Alex Noren followed up his home-town victory at the Nordea Masters on Sunday by announcing that he had signed with IMG.
IMG Worldwide is a global sports, fashion and media business, with nearly 3,000 employees operating in 30 countries around the globe. Founded in 1960 with a handshake between Mark McCormack and golf legend Arnold Palmer, IMG has grown into a global operation. In 2004, renowned entrepreneurial pioneer Ted Forstmann acquired the company and infused it with renewed energy, creativity, and strategic direction. ( Mizuno JPX E600 irons)
IMG's areas of expertise are diverse and wide ranging: IMG College is the leader in collegiate marketing, licensing and media rights. IMG's Joint Ventures, IMG Reliance, IMX and IMG CCTV, in the emerging markets of India, Brazil and China, offer the company significant long-term growth opportunities.
IMG, who over the years have managed the business affairs of some of the World's greatest golfers including the likes of Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods, will co-manage Noren together with his brother, Andreas Lagercrantz, who has been handling the young Swede's affairs as a lone entity until now.
On Sunday Noren won his third title by Mizuno JPX E600 irons only seven weeks after winning the 2011 Saab Wales Open and now lies in 8th place on the Race to Dubai Rankings.
He turned professional in 2005 and quickly showed his class, graduating third from the 2006 European Challenge Tour listings.
He won his first title at the 2009 Omega European Masters with his Mizuno JPX E600 irons despite an injury-interrupted season and his win this weekend has taken the Stockholm native to a career high 69th on the Official World Rankings list.
"This is a great time in which to be joining IMG having just won in front of my home fans. IMG is the biggest management agency in global golf and, with my brother as my personal manager and IMG's Global and Swedish team also working on my behalf, I believe they are the best people to help me navigate through the next stage of my career. "I am very excited at what is ahead," he added.
Guy Kinnings, Managing Director IMG Golf said: "Alex has enjoyed a great season and had a fantastic win yesterday. We are very pleased he is joining IMG.
"Our Swedish business is really developing and we feel we are well placed to really capitalize on his success and talent."
Duncan Reid (London) will represent Alex globally and Eva Herder (Stockholm) will manage him in Sweden.
